Social-Emotional Art for Adolescents

Manifest Academy is developing a social-emotional arts program designed to empower adolescents (ages 12-15) through creative expression and emotional intelligence training. By blending creative theater art —dance, acting, and storytelling—with SEL principles, this curriculum will equip young people with resilience, empathy, and leadership skills. Set to launch as an after-school program and summer intensive, Manifest Academy aims to foster socially inspired and emotionally empowered youth.

Candace was born and raised in Baltimore, MD, where she first began her arts training in dance at the age of 3. By age 11, with much encouragement, she decided to pursue her passions in creative engagement—acting, dancing, and writing—through after-school programming and summer arts intensives. She was later accepted into The Baltimore School for the Arts, where she attended high school with a focus on Theatre. Though her studies centered on Theatre, she continued her dance training through after-school programs and intensives until graduating.

Immediately after, she continued her education at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where she earned her BFA in 2016. Following a dedicated career as a teacher and administrator, where she focused on teaching youth social-emotional learning (SEL) through Theatre, Candace relocated to Dallas, TX, in 2023 to pursue an MBA and transition into a career in technology. She is now pursuing a career as a corporate Data Engineer while building her entrepreneurial ventures in education and wellness.
